Preoperative Preparation of A Colectomy Patient

General preparation:

1- Labs: 
CBC, renal functions, liver functions, ABO & coagulation profile 

2- Imaging & diagnostic tests:
Endoscopy, true cut biopsy, CT abdomen and pelvis with contrast +/- bone scan. 

Colon preparation:

48 h preoperative:
1- Clear fluids 

24 h preoperative:
1- Prepawest sachets: dose 1 on morning: (sachets A+B on 2 liters of water + 1 liter of any clear fluids for dehydration prophylaxis). Dose 2 at preoperative night: (sachets A+B on 2 liters of water + 1 liter of any clear fluids for dehydration prophylaxis).
+/-
2- Rectal enemas/ 6 h.

6 h preoperative:
Nothing per mouth.
